The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) concluded this year’s edition of its annual convention with a formidable reinforcement of its ministerial workforce as it ordained 2,820 candidates as full pastors.
It also ordained 11,830 deacons and deaconesses as well as 5,977 assistant pastors.
The ordinations formed part of the activities marking the 74th Annual Convention of the RCCG, which began on Monday, August 3, and ended on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The convention, themed: “Mountain Movers,” was held at Redemption City, Mowe, Ogun State, and attracted worshippers from Nigeria and other parts of the world.
The figures were disclosed on Sunday by the church’s Holy Ghost Service account on Instagram during the 74th convention held at Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
The church said 2,820 candidates were ordained into the office of full pastor during the week-long programme.
It disclosed that the office of Full Pastor is the highest pastoral office in the RCCG, noting that even the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is a full pastor.
“2,820 candidates were ordained to the office of Full Pastors. In R.C.C.G., the office of the Full Pastor is the highest office; even the General Overseer is a full pastor,” the church’s Holy Ghost Service Instagram account said on Sunday.
In another post, the church disclosed on Tuesday, the second day of the convention, that 11,830 deacons and deaconesses as well as 5,977 assistant pastors were also ordained.
“A total of 11,830 deacons & deaconesses and 5,977 assistant pastors were ordained during the 74th Annual Convention of R.C.C.G,” the church stated.
The convention featured daily worship sessions, Bible studies, prayer meetings, seminars and specialised sessions for different groups within the church.
Other highpoints of the programme included the Holy Ghost Service on Friday, Holy Communion and Anointing Service on Saturday, as well as baptism, ordination services and the final thanksgiving service on Sunday.
The ordination of pastors, deacons, deaconesses and assistant pastors was one of the major highlights of the convention.
The General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, led a lot of the sessions of the programme alongside his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye as well as other senior ministers.
The convention also featured testimonies and thanksgiving from worshippers, while the church announced several developments recorded during the week-long gathering.
On the final day, Daddy Adeboye announced with a great joy that at least 88 babies were born at the Redemption City during the convention, comprising 52 boys and 36 girls.
The convention ended with a thanksgiving service on Sunday.
