Nigerian Sprinter Favour Ofili Qualifies for Women’s 200m Final at Paris Olympics

Favour Ofili has secured a spot in the final of the women’s 200 meters at the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

She achieved a season-best time of 22.05 seconds in heat 1 of the semi-finals, finishing behind Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia, the new women’s 100m champion.

Ofili will join seven other athletes in the final on Tuesday evening, ranking third among them.

Despite being the lowest-ranked athlete in the field with a world ranking of 31 and a personal best of 21.96, Ofili has proven herself to be a strong competitor.

In the semi-finals, Julien Alfred achieved a time of 21.98, while Gabrielle Thomas of the U.S. won heat 2 with a time of 21.86.
