‎Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation empowers MDAs with planning, data skills

‎The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has launched a capacity-building programme to equip mid-level staff of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) departments across Nigeria’s federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with modern planning and data skills. The initiative is aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery for citizens.

‎Developed in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and the Central Result Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), the programme is tailored to address institutional gaps and longstanding challenges that limit effective planning in the public sector.

‎Executive Vice Chair of the Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, said the training is designed to empower public planners to deliver real change. “We believe in a Nigeria where every citizen can feel the impact of good governance, where children receive quality education, mothers have access to safe healthcare, and communities benefit from thoughtful planning and delivery. That future starts with strong public sector leaders who are equipped to plan, track and deliver results. This training is about empowering those leaders,” she stated.

‎Participants will receive practical training in strategic planning, research, data analysis, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E), with a strong emphasis on leveraging digital tools for smarter planning. The programme will also promote collaboration, innovation, and a results-driven mindset that prioritises evidence-based decisions for the benefit of citizens.

‎The Foundation explained that the initiative builds on its ongoing work to strengthen public institutions. Over the years, it has delivered targeted training in monitoring and evaluation, project management, communications, policy writing, and digital skills while conducting needs assessments within MDAs to identify skills gaps.

‎Founded by Aigboje and Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation focuses on transforming public service delivery and expanding access to quality primary healthcare across Africa. It also provides strategic support to organisations such as ABC Health, the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), and the Nigerian Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF).
