The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has directed MultiChoice Nigeria to keep its current subscription prices unchanged while an ongoing investigation into its proposed price hike is underway.

This directive was issued after MultiChoice Nigeria requested an extension for its scheduled appearance before the Commission.

According to a statement by FCCPC’s Director, Corporate Affairs, Ondaje Ijagwu, the request was granted, but the company must now attend a rescheduled investigative hearing on March 6, 2025, with all relevant officers and a comprehensive response.

“MultiChoice is expressly instructed to maintain the existing price structure as of February 27, 2025, pending the Commission’s review and final determination on the matter,” the statement read.

The FCCPC emphasised that maintaining the current pricing is necessary to “prevent any potential consumer harm during this period.”

Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
