After weeks of mounting pressure from political stakeholders and community leaders, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has sworn in Peace Samson Audu as the new Chairperson of Fufore Local Government Area.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Yola, with the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, administering the oath of office and allegiance.

She served as acting chairperson during the late chairman’s illness, ensuring no void in governance,” Fintiri stated, assuring the public that her appointment followed all constitutional protocols. He stressed that her elevation guarantees continuity and stability in Fufore.

The governor urged Audu to uphold her oath, foster collaboration with stakeholders, and focus on advancing development, unity, and security in the local government. He also appealed to Fufore residents to embrace their new chairperson as a “mother figure” committed to their welfare.

Fintiri reflected on his six-year stewardship of Adamawa, expressing pride in the state’s strides and optimism for its future leadership. “I believe someone even greater will build on this foundation after me,” he said. Following broad consultations, he named Sale Manu as the Vice Chairman, cementing the council’s new leadership team.
