The prestigious event, a cornerstone of African entertainment, brought together a constellation of stars, filmmakers, and creatives from across the continent to honor outstanding achievements in film, television, and digital content.

Among the night’s highlights MOBOs, Lateef Adedimeji’s Lisabi: The Uprising emerged as a standout, clinching multiple awards and cementing its place as a cinematic triumph.

The 2025 AMVCA celebrated a diverse array of talent across 28 categories

The Uprising, a historical epic produced by and starring Nollywood heavyweight Lateef Adedimeji, was a major highlight of the 2025 AMVCA. The film, which chronicles the legendary Yoruba warrior Lisabi’s fight against oppression, captivated audiences and critics alike with its gripping storytelling, stellar performances, and technical brilliance.

It secured the coveted Best Indigenous Language (West Africa) award, beating out strong contenders like Seven Doors, Kaka, Anikulapo: The Rise of the Spectre, and Mai Martaba. Adedimeji’s dedication to authentic storytelling and cultural representation resonated deeply, earning him widespread acclaim.
