Oka Day 2025: NASRDA’s Felix Ale Extols Olubaka’s Leadership

A communication scholar and Director of Media and Corporate Communications at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Felix Ale, has congratulated the Olubaka of Oka, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, on the occasion of the 2025 edition of Oka Day, scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

In a press statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, Ale described the Olubaka as “a true custodian of heritage and harbinger of hope,” adding that the royal father has redefined tradition with dynamism and visionary leadership.

He noted that since ascending the throne, the monarch has “walked with wisdom and ruled with grace.”

The Oka Akoko-born communication expert said the Olubaka’s time on the throne has been marked by remarkable transformation across the kingdom—ranging from the strengthening of community institutions and promotion of cultural identity, to the fostering of peace and attracting development through dialogue and diplomacy.

Ale described the Olubaka’s reign as “a testimony to leadership steeped in integrity, humility, and devotion to the wellbeing of his people.”

“With uncommon grace and intellect honed by education and experience, Oba Adeleye has stood as a bridge between the past and the future, ensuring that the flame of tradition burns brightly even as modernity touches every household,” he stated.

The NASRDA’s spokesperson noted that under the monarch’s guidance, Oka Akoko has become “a model of unity, a citadel of communal pride, and a rallying point for indigenes across Nigeria and in the diaspora.”

He also commended the Olubaka’s decision to confer the posthumous Okarufe Golden Merit Award on the late Pa Isreal Olukoju—an elder statesman and illustrious son of Oka Akoko—whose legacy, he said, “shaped the community for decades.”

Describing the gesture as “highly commendable,” Ale said it would inspire both young and old to understand that “true leadership is measured not by titles but by integrity and lasting impact.”

The media icon also paid tribute to the Royal Matriarch, Olori Adejumoke Adeleye, whose grace and strength, he said, “continue to support the throne with quiet power and royal dignity.”

He expressed appreciation for the esteemed Council of Chiefs—popularly known as the Oka-Oba-in-Council—whose loyalty and wisdom, he said, bolster the kingdom’s foundation.

Ale extended his goodwill to every son and daughter of Oka Akoko for their passion and unwavering love for their homeland.

“As the drums beat and the people dance, as old friends reunite and new dreams are born on this special Oka Day, the great indigenes of Oka must always remember that our strength lies in our unity,” he stated.

According to him, “The true greatness of Oka Akoko will continue to unfold when hands join together in service, when we speak with one voice, and when we invest in growth—spiritually, economically, and communally.”

Dr. Ale wishes the people of Oka Akoko many more years of glorious gatherings, bountiful blessings, and a kingdom that continues to rise ever higher.
